I live for these things. I know most parents probably dread them but I love volunteering to man a game and the crappy food and the small talk you do with other parents and chasing a very rambunctious two year old around. I love seeing Alex with his friends and meeting their parents and hear that their child always talks about Alexander and says he is their best friend. I love hearing the teachers tell me what a nice boy Alex is when they see him on the playground and how sometimes he just walks around observing everything rather than participate. I loved trying hopelessly to talk Alex into going in the bounch house. I didn't love seeing Alex get bitten by fire ants, but that was the only not so fun thing about this carnival.

Bubbles with Auntie Dee
Easter Egg Hunt in LC
Bunny Chasing
Grandma and Grandpa's neighbours had two pet bunnies that Alex made his mission to try and catch. I managed to catch one, but Alex had no luck at all. He did feed them lots of carrots and other bits and pieces. Every waking hour he wanted to go see the bunnies. So much to do at grandmas. He loved feeding Grandpa's fish too. I hope all the wildlife has survived Alex's visit.
Easter in Las Cruces
This year we spent Easter with Grandma and Grandpa Meyer in Las Cruces along with all of Alex's aunts and uncles, and great grandpa too. Someone sure got SPOILED. We left right after Alex got out of school and drove straight through. We arrived in LC about 10:30 NM time. Alex did superb on the trip and didn't cry or fuss once. We have the DVD player to thank for that. We made one pit stop at McD's for dinner and a walk for Sydney but other than that didn't stop at all. Very different from some of the trips we have made. I think Alex actually enjoyed the trip, he even had a ten minute laughing fit, which was hilarious. He was really looking forward to seeing Rae and Riley and the rest of the dogs.

Easter Tea
The Easter Bunny visits the Rec Center
These were taken at the Rec Center right before Easter. The bunny came to the sitter room and surprised all the kids and the teachers too. The bunny started handing out candy and Alex got the first piece, however the teacher I guess had not given the okay for the bunny to do this so she came running over to Alex to retrieve the candy and Alex quickly hid it in his pocket and wouldn't return it. Way to go Alex, she eventually gave up and confiscated the candy basket from the bunny. I think the look on Alex's face is pure relief that he managed to get a candy and at the same time he is thinking "who the heck is this guy dressed as a bunny". He did look quite strange.

Tori and Earl Come to Visit
Earl has bought a Border Magic Trailer from some guy in Austin so Jay picked it up for him and the trailer sat in our driveway for what seemed like weeks. We got some funny looks from the neigbours and friends because it was not in good shape at all. Anyway it was a great excuse to finally get Earl and Tori out for a visit. Despite Tori just having her second ankle surgery and Earl putting his back out we managed to have a wonderful visit. Tori and I managed a trip to the mall while the guys watched a sleeping Alex. It was so awesome to see them here on our turf. Alex loved all the attention he got and loved having little Kaders here too.

The Girls go to Dallas
Since Granny Annie has been here so many times there is not much around these parts that she hasn't seen or done yet. I decided that we needed to venture further, so we ended up in Dallas and thanks to Auntie Dee we got an awesome hotel right downtown for next to nothing. We left early Monday morning and got stuck in major traffic around Waco area which extended our trip by about 3 hours which was not very much fun with a broken DVD player. Sarah was in the backseat and she had to do all the Alex entertaining. We made it to Dallas finally and had a nice Mexican lunch right downtown and then headed to the Texas Schoolbook Depository to see the museum dedicated to JFK's assination. Needless to say it was very emotional being able to stand in the very place that Lee Harvey Oswald shot the fatal shots-too emotional for Sarah who had to leave. As emotional as it was it was very interesting!! We headed back to the hotel for an early night. The next (and final ) day we went shopping at some of Dallas' very high end malls-too rich for our poor pocketbooks but fun to visit and see.

Texas Days at School
Alexander's school held Texas Days at school today. The students had to dress up in cowboy/girl gear and they had an old fashioned chile cook off and mini rodeo, complete with pony rides (Ms. Maxine pulling kids on a pretend horse), tractor rides, shooting gallery and other games. Alex wore his cowboy boots which he wears all the time anyway, bandana, horse sweater, and rode his Dandee hobby horse.

Bubble Bath
Alex loves to take baths in the jacuzzi tub in mum and dad's room. He can't do this alone since it is so deep and dangerous so I am the lucky one that gets to bathe with him. Of course his favourite part is putting the bubbles on high. You can see the result of this from the pictures. This particular night a little too much soap was put in. It was way too much fun even for me.
