Champion Park
Our playgroup met at an awesome new (to us) park today. It was a huge sand pit with buried dinosaur bones. It was also covered with a huge shade canopy so it was nice and cool. They had diggers built into the sand that the kids could operate and tons of shovels and little brushes to uncover the dino bones. It put our sandbox to shame. Alex does love his sand so much so he brought home about two cups of the stuff in his shoes, diaper and pockets as a souvenir. Must get the vacuum out!! It was a little like being in NM at least the sand part anyway.

The Pool is Open
We broke out the little pool we bought a few months ago at a garage sale for $2.00. Not a bad deal considering all the fun we've had in it in only three days. Since starting swimming lessons at Nitro Alex loves blowing bubbles and then putting his ear in the water, not sure why he chose his ear to immerse, but it's a start. The water is absolutely freezing, but that hasn't slowed him down any, youth eh??? Here is Alex "swimming" in the pool today.

What's Your Name
Tonight during bedtime rituals we asked Alex what his name was and he responded, "Alex," or a form of that. He definitely said it and I think that others would be able to decipher it as well. He also now says "Go please" when he is on my back waiting for his horsey ride-at least he's polite when he's breaking mum's back. He talks all the time. My favorite moments are when he is in the playroom playing cars or blocks or whatever and he is talking away and is totally lost in his world. He usually catches me staring at him and the moment is gone, but that is my slice of Heavan for the day. He actually has quite the repertoire of real words, it just takes him a little bit of prodding before he blurts them out.

Our Little Fashionista
On April 18th Alex was part of the MOPS fashion show put on by a little store in Georgetown. He got to choose his own outfit and even walked down the runway all by himself, he needed a little help turning around to face the audience though. He looked incredibly handsome with his tractor jumper on and carrying his pinwheel (which he was thrilled he got to keep).

Swimming Lessons
Alexander started swimming lessons again this year at the Nitro swimming pool in Cedar Park. His teacher's name is Ms. Kyle and he loves her. He is doing so well this year and looks forward to his lessons every day. He now is jumping in on his own, which is very scary for Mama who must catch him every time even when she's not ready. He is supposed to wait for the code word but he gets so excited he can't wait. He is getting much more comfortable on his back and front. He goes under every class and loves to blow bubbles (he even practices in the bath).

Sweetberry Farms
Alex and Grandma went strawberry picking today just outside of Marble Falls. I think Alex actually ate more than he picked. We got to see a two week old donkey and feed the goats. Alex got a little scared by the goats when they stuck their heads through the fence to grab the food, he eventually warmed up and was feeding them on his own. He much preferred to more subdued donkey.
At bedtime tonight he clearly said "baby" while reading Are You My Mother and pointed at the baby bird. On a sadder note I think our baby squirrels have moved out. We haven't had a sighting in almost two days.

Feeding the Chickens
The library held a field trip to the kinder music farm today and Alex got to feed the chickens they had there. The chickens were so tame that you could actually feed them right from your hands. Alex ended up chasing them around the whole farm, he liked the music and dancing but the highlight was definitely the chickens. Bok Bok.
