Thanks Uncle Phil

This came in the mail today from Jay's brother. This was a very generous and unexpected gift from him. Jay was very happy - I was not. Jay loves his Bowmore Scotch. My mom's cousin used to do all the PR for Bowmore in Scotland and has some good stories to tell of people she met giving tours of the distillery, one of the most famous was Sean Connery and her claim to fame is she got to kiss him on the head.

My Christmas Outfit

We had Alex trying on his new Christmas hat-the hat is too adorable unfortunately major bribes are needed in order for him to wear it. This is us playing around on the couch.

I am not a happy camper mum!

Alex's little friend Lori comes over to play with us and really enjoys Alex's swing. I always let her go first because she is our guest and she is a little girl. Alex does not understand nor like this concept however he is getting used to it now and instead of crying he just stands on the porch with this scowl!

The Thanksgiving Feast

Alex's school had a Thanksgiving Feast for all the families today. I had volunteered to make the cookies which is a whole story in itself and I won't get into right now. Since Alex is the only boy in his class and the class next door he is the only one in the Pilgrim's hat. The classes sang some cute songs and then we were treated to a turkey luncheon. It was actually really good. Alex did not eat anything, however he did turn into some wild child and ran around the hall laughing his head off the whole lunch. I was reminded of my teaching days when we would have events and some kids would stay by their parents the whole time and then there would be the ones running crazy and I would think to myself "control your kids" Well mine was the kid running wild.

Daddy's Birthday Cake

Alex and I made a birthday cake to celebrate Daddy's birthday. We had a very low-key celebration per his request. The cake batter sure was good though!

Hoodie

These pictures were taken at the Creative Playscape in Georgetown. Alex and I go here almost everyday after I go to the gym. It is right beside the rec center and unless I can make a dash for the car without him seeing the park we end up over there swinging or digging! It is a very fun place!

Sandpaper Letters

Alex is now really getting into the sandpaper letters. We try to do our letters every day, but that never happens-I am happy if we get them in three times a week. He is so cute when he says the sounds trying to do it just like me!! Makes me proud!!

Busy Saturday

Alex's friend Shayna invited him to join her for her soccer class on Saturday morning. Alex was very excited to play soccer with his friends. The class was really fun and we learned lots of good interactive games as well as did a lot of running. Not to brag or anything but the teacher did pull me aside and said that she thought Alex had real potential and should be in the next class up. I have to realize that she was probably just trying to get me to register but I'll take the compliment regardless. Later that afternoon we had another friend's birthday party to attend. Alex really enjoyed the ball pit as you can see from the pictures.

Election Day Playdate

The Social Butterflies organized a "vote for your favorite Elmo doll" playdate in honor of Election Day. Hopefully the right Elmo doll won!! Note the I VOTED sticker on Alex. He got one and I got one when I really did vote early this morning. We are anxiously and nervously waiting for results.

Dinoland in Austin

We took Grandma Annie to the Dinoland exhibit at the Austin Botanical Gardens today. They had a display of lifesize dinos amidst the trails and gardens-it was fantastic. Alex did lots of running, jumping, and basically acting like the two year old he is. After we drove up South Lamar and had a sandwich on a little patio. It was a wonderful day and good to be in Austin for a change.

Marble Falls Pumpkin Patch

These are a few pictures of Alex this past week. I love the one of Alex in his yellow boots-he loves wearing boots, especially when he is naked.
