Tori and Earl Come to Visit

Earl has bought a Border Magic Trailer from some guy in Austin so Jay picked it up for him and the trailer sat in our driveway for what seemed like weeks. We got some funny looks from the neigbours and friends because it was not in good shape at all. Anyway it was a great excuse to finally get Earl and Tori out for a visit. Despite Tori just having her second ankle surgery and Earl putting his back out we managed to have a wonderful visit. Tori and I managed a trip to the mall while the guys watched a sleeping Alex. It was so awesome to see them here on our turf. Alex loved all the attention he got and loved having little Kaders here too.

The Girls go to Dallas

Since Granny Annie has been here so many times there is not much around these parts that she hasn't seen or done yet. I decided that we needed to venture further, so we ended up in Dallas and thanks to Auntie Dee we got an awesome hotel right downtown for next to nothing. We left early Monday morning and got stuck in major traffic around Waco area which extended our trip by about 3 hours which was not very much fun with a broken DVD player. Sarah was in the backseat and she had to do all the Alex entertaining. We made it to Dallas finally and had a nice Mexican lunch right downtown and then headed to the Texas Schoolbook Depository to see the museum dedicated to JFK's assination. Needless to say it was very emotional being able to stand in the very place that Lee Harvey Oswald shot the fatal shots-too emotional for Sarah who had to leave. As emotional as it was it was very interesting!! We headed back to the hotel for an early night. The next (and final ) day we went shopping at some of Dallas' very high end malls-too rich for our poor pocketbooks but fun to visit and see.

Texas Days at School

Alexander's school held Texas Days at school today. The students had to dress up in cowboy/girl gear and they had an old fashioned chile cook off and mini rodeo, complete with pony rides (Ms. Maxine pulling kids on a pretend horse), tractor rides, shooting gallery and other games. Alex wore his cowboy boots which he wears all the time anyway, bandana, horse sweater, and rode his Dandee hobby horse.

Bubble Bath

Alex loves to take baths in the jacuzzi tub in mum and dad's room. He can't do this alone since it is so deep and dangerous so I am the lucky one that gets to bathe with him. Of course his favourite part is putting the bubbles on high. You can see the result of this from the pictures. This particular night a little too much soap was put in. It was way too much fun even for me.
