Robin Bledsoe

We have been hanging out at a new sprinkler park recently that is not too far in Leander. We love it because there is no pool, it is just lots of splash fun. The only down side to it, is there is not a lot of shade. We have gone with Alex's BFF Adrina and she loves it too.

Playdate Fun

Alex and I hosted a small party for some of our friends today. We had both pools out and the sandbox. Alex loves having his friends over and I do too especially when it is outside :). It has been so hot here in Texas the past month the only thing to do to cool off is to go swimming. Alex's new pool is a lot bigger than his old one and he can actually swim in it (if he could swim). I have a lot of fun in it too!! Here are a few pictures of Adrina and Alex having fun!!

My Birthday

This was a wonderful birthday. It started with a 7;00 am run in San Gabriel Park and let me tell ya it was the best run I have had since I started. The river was peaceful, I didn't get attacked by geese, Jack Johnson on the i-pod, not 107 degrees yet and knowing Alex was having fun with dad-doesn't get better than that. I then did a body toning class followed by a spin class. It was goal for a long time to do a triple decker and it is something I can not do with Alex in tow, so Jay stepped up for my birthday and gave me the opportunity. Of course I paid for it all day and more today but now I know I can do it!! Jay and Alex made me a beautiful cake (see pictures) and then we went for dinner to Chuy's and ate way too much of course. My b-day present should be coming in the mail soon so I will keep you posted.

Water Table Fun

This was this morning at San Gabriel Park. Our playgroup is so awesome. The organizer actually hauls her water table with a huge jug of water to the park so the kids can play in this dreadful heat.

Father's Day

We had a low key, but fun Father's day. We let Daddy sleep in and then had a big breakfast complete with Daddy's favourites, biscuits and gravy and discovered that Alex ate pretty much anything on his plate provided it had gravy on it. Alex and daddy then watched the US Open and the nascar race in their respective recliners in front of the tv while I worked in the garden.

Alex is really turning into a little boy recently and quite a few people have commented on it. He rarely has any potty accidents anymore (still working on number 2), he gets his own snacks from the cupboard (caught him getting a bowl full of raisins from the pantry), fills his own water cup, tells me when something is yucky and the list goes on and on. He is sleeping much better at night but unconsistently. He tells us there is something wrong with his room and needs to sleep with us, a few nights ago it was his floor...it was broken. I do love sleeping with his cuddly little body near me, but he is a real kicker when he sleeps and it makes for a sleepless night for me. He loves to cuddle with us and boy oh boy does he talk. He is very shy around new people but once he gets to know you he gets a little bit crazy.

The New Digger

As a big surprise yesterday Alex got an Alex size digger that he can actually sit on and dig with from Grandpa Roger. It was so very nice of Grandpa to get this totally awesome present for him. It is now in our sandbox and is getting a lot of use. We had actually seen these at Champion Park and Alex really liked it so it so neat that he now has his own one. We are having some friends over this week for a surf and turf party and we can show off our new digger.

Father's Day Stepping Stone

At Kaleidoscope toys they had a workshop for kids to make a stepping stone for their dad for Father's day. Alex and I went and made one for Jay. We put lots of golf tees, pretty stones etc. into it and it turned out very cute. This is the coolest toy store ever, proved by Alex's temper tantrum he threw when he did not want to leave after being there for two hours. They have lots of really neat toys and many things to play with while in there.

Cotton Candy

We took Alex to his third baseball game last night. We couldn't resist as it was the Round Rock Express playing our Albuquerque Isotopes. Jay and Alex both wore their Isotope hats and we cheered them on heartily to victory. Alex was very intrigued by the cotton candy so we bought him some against our better judgement. It took about three bites before he was totally wired on sugar. Actually he was a complete angel the rest of the game so it was worth it to see. On a side note we took the leftover cotton candy home and I was really surprised to see how fast it would disintegrate into basically nothing.
