My Best Student Ever

Alex and I were going to host a Montessori playdate tomorrow, however Alex got sick so we had to cancel. I had wanted to start some practical life lessons with Alex so hosting the playdate was the perfect opportunity to get all my materials out as well as some new stuff. Because Alex couldn't be too far from the house I thought we could start some simple Montessori lessons. I haven't been in the classroom in over two years and had forgotten that look that the child gets when they have mastered something for themselves. I saw that in Alex when he finished his spooning. He was so pleased with himself. Seeing my little guy spooning beans into a bowl with a look of concentration on his face as if he was performing surgery almost brought a tear to my eye. He was so proud of himself when all the beans were on the other side. Every time he came across a broken bean he had to go and put it into the garbage. He carried the tray back to the shelf so proudly and was so excited to do the next piece of work. Auntie Debbie would be proud!!!

Playdate Today

Alex discovered an electric little car at his friend's house today. All you had to do was press a button and it would move, and to think before this he had to use his legs-I'll never get him on his trike now.

Dress Up Time

Alex loves going through our closets and getting us to put various articles of clothing on him!! He loves to start this right when he knows it is bedtime, he knows we can't resist a good laugh before bed.

My New Elmo Toothbrush

Alex has never liked brushing his teeth, actually I should say that he has never liked mum or dad brushing his teeth. He could sit there for hours with the brush in his mouth. We have sunk to new levels by buying him Nemo toothpaste and an Elmo toothbrush-these seem to be the only two characters he likes, Oh and Bruce the shark. Well the new toothbrush has made brushing time a little more time consuming because we have to admire Elmo for a few minutes before any brushing happens but hasn't made it any easier. He is cute though isn't he??

Party Time

This weekend Alex went to his friend Morgan's birthday party. It was a Scooby Doo mystery party. I had Alex decked out in his Canada gear in honor of the Olympics. Everyone thought he was just the cutest thing.

Go Alex Go

Toddler Olympics-Going for the Gold

On Friday Alexander and all his social butterfly participated in the Toddler Olympics in San Gabriel park with a temperature of 104 degrees. It was uper cute!!!! Although Alex did half the 50 metre pushing a big truck he still managed to place. All who participated got a gold medal from Dina. We also participated in the discus throw and the shotput. Alex did not place in any of those events-it is very clear that he is a runner.

A Trip to the Fire Station

Our playgroup went to the fire station museum in Georgetown and this is a picture of Alex in the truck.

Jack and Alex

Alex's friend Jack came to visit with us for five days. Here are some pictures of them playing. Maifa (Jack's mum) is one of my best friends from university. They got along almost as well as Maifa and I do. There was a little sibling rivalry going on, but at the end it was all Jack could do to kiss and hug and Alex constantly. I miss you guys!!
