My Best Student Ever

Alex and I were going to host a Montessori playdate tomorrow, however Alex got sick so we had to cancel. I had wanted to start some practical life lessons with Alex so hosting the playdate was the perfect opportunity to get all my materials out as well as some new stuff. Because Alex couldn't be too far from the house I thought we could start some simple Montessori lessons. I haven't been in the classroom in over two years and had forgotten that look that the child gets when they have mastered something for themselves. I saw that in Alex when he finished his spooning. He was so pleased with himself. Seeing my little guy spooning beans into a bowl with a look of concentration on his face as if he was performing surgery almost brought a tear to my eye. He was so proud of himself when all the beans were on the other side. Every time he came across a broken bean he had to go and put it into the garbage. He carried the tray back to the shelf so proudly and was so excited to do the next piece of work. Auntie Debbie would be proud!!!
